More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Some of my life's passions include medical school (psychiatry) which is what I am working toward, my relationship with Jesus, my family and taking time to participate in hobbies/sports.

I typically spend my leisure time

I like to run, cycle, read, garden, cook, travel, kayak, swim, try new things...

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for someone who loves the Lord and has healthy priorities. Someone who wants to be the man God wants him to be. Someone who is fun and ambitious and intelligent and enjoys life!

The first thing people notice about me

I don't know. Usually people mention that I'm so little and have such a little voice. The space at the top doesn't allow for "and a half", because I am actually 5'4" and a half- which is really not that small. :) And I can have a commanding presence if I have to. (I am a teacher, after all.) I think people notice that I am strong-willed.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I recently read 'The Passion of Artemisia' by Susan Vreeland. It is historical fiction, based on the facts of life of Artemisia Gentileschi who, we know from historical records, was an artist from Rome who knew the Medici's and Galileo and who was involved in a trial in her teens. I liked that the author made the historical characters empathetic, but it was kind of sad. I have also recently read a few books about communicating to my students and the next book on my list is 'The Mind and The Brain' by Dr. Schwartz of UCLA. I am interested in Psychiatry and the research this doctor has done.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Jesus
  2. My family
  3. My personal goals

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I am pretty quiet sometimes, and I wish people would understand that I do have strong opinions and beliefs even though I may not always share them. People with whom I am newly acquainted sometimes think I am too shy to speak up for myself, or they project onto me their impressions of my opinions. I think that is a typical first impression of 'quiet' people. I like to get to know people before I open up very much.

A little more about me

I am really happy with my life- I have so many goals, hobbies and interests about which I am excited!! Also, there is so much out there to learn and places to go. I am glad I'm NOT at a place where I need someone to make me happy. I just think it would be even more fun to share with someone!
