The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about children. I have one young son, but I am also fortunate enough to be a teacher, where I touch the lives of lots of students everyday. I believe that the best way to improve the world, and try to make it a better place, is to hlep children. Encouraging, playing with, teaching, and caring for children is essential. (and fun!)
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to be outside! I like to work with my flowers and plants, play on the swingset with my son, go to the lake with family, play tennis, go for long walks with my dog, pretty much anything outside! I also enjoy reading and working with my hands on many different projects! You'll catch me bowling every other Thursday night, and scrapbooking once a month!
The most influential person in my life has been
It's difficult to narrow it down to one most important quality. But, I believe that if a person truely walks in faith, they will certainly be everything I am looking for! Honest, sincere, faithful, trustworthy, spiritual, caring, loving, and encouraging. A living example for others!
The first thing people notice about me
The first thing people usually notice is my hair. It's naturally curly, and a combination of light brown, blonde, and strawberry in color. Many people say I look like a grown up Shirley Temple. Besides the hair, people often comment that chilren are always gathered around me. I love to be near children, teach a new game, listen to their stories, or just watch an airplane together.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The last book I read was fantastic! It was "The Sacrifice" by Beverly Lewis. It is her third book in the series, "Abram's Daughters". About an Amish family. Although I am not Amish, it puts perspective on the simple ways of living. I truely can not imagine not having running water, or electricity. I was not prepared to learn of their trials, and how similar they are to mine! I can hardly wait until the next book in the series comes out!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am most thankful for my son.
- I am thankful for my entire family- immediate, expanded, and my pets
- I am thankful for becoming a teacher, what I always knew I would do!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I wish people could notice that I have experienced many terrible tragedies, and have been able to not only survive, but I have learned to see those tragedies as growing opportunities!
