More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I can easily say I am most passionate about learning. I have an intense interest in literature, travel, history, art and theater. I believe the best teacher is experience. For that reason, I want to work my way around the world. I relish in travel, food and wine. I believe the world looks a little different after every book I finish and every city I visit.

I typically spend my leisure time

Oh my...depends on my mood. I write a food column, so I consider going out to eat far too often "research." If we're talking real leisure time, I like to fall asleep in the sun or (lets be honest) lay on the couch and watch television/read a book.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone who is genuine. I want someone who will be honest with me and who I can feel comfortable being honest with. I don't want to fall in love with an illusion.

The first thing people notice about me

Usually my sense of humor. When I first meet people I want to break the ice with laughter. It just makes the "getting to know you" part a little easier.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Good in Bed" by Jennifer Weiner...it's not as "juicy" as it sounds. Essentially, it's about a woman approaching life's problems with and without grace. I just liked the humor/voice of the story. I also recently read "The Davinci Code" by Dan Brown - I thought the concept was fantastic but the characters were a bit cardboard.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family
  2. My friends
  3. My talent for writing, passion for learning and travel.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I talk too much (especially when I'm nervous). I guess I'm just too excited about everything. Thus, people may not know how intently I can listen to others when they first meet me.

A little more about me

I want to travel a lot in my life...it would be wonderful to meet someone who would like to travel with me.
