More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of people around me. Whether it's praying for a friend, writing an encouraging note, listening to someone's joy or concern, playing with the kids so that my sister and her husband can go out -- they're all small things but I delight in doing them.

I typically spend my leisure time

-playing with my nephew and nieces-reading (topics range from theology, leadership, history--particularly Greek, biographies, science, and a wide variety of magazines)-cooking-volunteering at church-gardening-traveling (particularly to water destinations with good scuba diving)-getting together with friends to chat, eat, bike, hike, camp, etc.

The most influential person in my life has been

A passionate commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a desire to pursue an ever deepening relationship with him.

The first thing people notice about me

I smile a lot and I genuinely enjoy listening to people.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Re-read the Chronicles of Narnia. I really enjoy the multi-level construction: a great story plus layers of practical application and spiritual truth.A Man for All Seasons -- This is a play about Sir Thomas Moore and his unwillingness to give Henry VIII his blessing to divorce Queen Catherine and marry Anne Boleyn. It is a really great study of a man who attempts to walk the fine line of remaining a faithful minister while still being true to his conscience (and all the while attempting to stay alive to provide for his family).

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am truly blessed to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
  2. I am thankful for the relationships I enjoy with my parents and other family members
  3. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in a church community that has a heart for lost people.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

hm-m-m-m I guess that I by no means have all the answers. I come across as confident -- but that just means I'm sometimes confidently right and many other times confidently wrong.

Friends Describe me as

Energetic, Good listener, Optimistic, Spiritual

A little more about me

All during the growing up years if anyone asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I always answered "A wife and mom." But instead I'm a career girl -- for the moment anyway. What does the future hold? Who can tell but I have a certain feeling that the best is yet to come!
