More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Learning (and scrapbooking)! I LOVE to learn new things. I feel like the more I can know the better equipped I am to enjoy life. Case in point: when I was in high school I qualified to take a class on Cloud Formations with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. I absolutely love the fact that while stuck in traffic I can now look up and entertain myself by naming which formations I see. I'm so happy to be able to tell the difference between rare Mammata and wispy Stratus. I know, I can be a nerd sometimes ;-).

I typically spend my leisure time

Scrapbooking, spoiling my sphynx, hiking, and trying new adventures and recipes (which can sometimes be an adventure!) and watching DVDs

The most influential person in my life has been

Loyalty. Someone that can be trusted with mine.

The first thing people notice about me

How friendly I am. I will make friends and conversation where ever I go. I get that from my mom ;-) I should mention that my photos are not the best of me and that they should be used only to get a general idea of what I look like LOL! I will try to post better ones later...

The last book I read and enjoyed

The 48 Laws of Power -- an excellent read. Hmmm... my favorite thing about this book were the historical references it made to illustrate each "law".

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My life. I've been given the extraordinary gift of approximately 32,850 days and told to spend them as I please.
  2. My family/culture. Large families are a blessing for more reasons than 20 words will allow! Also, being "mixed" has afforded me a unique view of humanity.
  3. My faith. Rigid though it may seem at times, it's been an invaluable guide. A reliable means by which I might continually measure myself.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

How loyal and giving I am. I know that's two but I couldn't decide.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Good listener, Intelligent, Spontaneous

A little more about me

I LOVE my ethnic mix. My mother is from Mexico and my father is from an island in the Caribbean called Trinidad. This is a large part of who I am because so many of our traditions have a direct impact on my life. Example, family plays a HUGE role in everything. Dinners are huge, parties are huge, if someone achieves or fails at something, everyone knows. I love large families! Another example of this blend are my parents main personality traits. They are a direct reflection of their countries. My mom is VERY spiritual whereas my father is a party animal. You can imagine then the fierce duality that exists within me. A Tempered wildness.
