More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about my beliefs, social causes, good chocolate, my family, my friends, my job, my pets, the Green Bay Packers, and living life to its fullest without regrets.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to read, whether it is a book or news on the internet. Unfortunately for my bank account, I also love to shop. I like dining out with friends, enjoying a good bottle of wine at friends' houses (or mine), playing with my pets, volunteering, watching NFL football (especially the Packers), or just relaxing and watching a movie. I love to try just about anything and am still looking for that one hobby to be passionate about.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty. I believe it is the basis for a close, loving relationship, and without it, trust cannot be gained.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile and laughter. I love to laugh and smile. It's good for the soul and makes those around you happy.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read a lot so there are lots of books I have enjoyed recently. I think one of my favorites over the last few years is "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich, which I have read several times. It is a social experiment on the difficulties (impossibilities) of living on minimum wage in this country. I love her writing style, her dry wit, and the humanism she brings to poverty in this country.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My relationship with my parents as an adult; I have always loved them, but also appreciate them now.
  2. My intelligence because I value what it has allowed me to do with my life
  3. My friendships because they keep me grounded, sane, and enjoying life

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My intelligence. I don't think I come off as dingy per se, but I don't think that I come off as intelligent right away, and I would like to be valued for that.

Friends Describe me as

Ambitious, Intelligent, Outgoing, Spontaneous

A little more about me

I am really hoping to meet someone who can challenge me mentally and be an equal intellectually. I also want to meet someone who can help me develop a passion for a hobby or activity in my life (to ease the burden shopping places on my wallet!). Overall, I love my life and I am just looking for someone to share and enjoy the journey with me.
