More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about developing relationships with new people, maintaining those with close friends, and most dedicated to teaching and peacemaking.

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading or watching movies.

The most influential person in my life has been

Wisdom, which, by my understanding of the word, includes love, honesty, prudence, justice and courage.

The first thing people notice about me

I suppose the answer depends on context. Personally, my response to the typical question, "What do you do?" is probably most notable. My usual response is to describe my faith, in a manner appropriate to the situation, rather than my occupation. Professionally, that I'm more interested in resolution than conflict. Apparently, that's out of the ordinary for lawyers, though I don't think it should be.

The last book I read and enjoyed

His Excellency, a new (and blessedly short) biography of George Washington. I most enjoyed the author's explanation of the man, as opposed to the icon, and how one informs the other. State of Fear by Michael Crichton was wonderful, too, especially his brief thesis on the politico-legal-media complex and its dependence on fear-mongering.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My church, and relationships there.
  2. Being radically tested and discovering that I can choose joy in the midst of horror.
  3. That 2004 is FINALLY over.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm as full of faults as the rest of humanity. I just attempt to mask it less. I've found, perhaps ironically, that exposing your faults tends to cause others to think of you as less full of faults. Wrong.

Friends Describe me as

Genuine, Good listener, Intelligent, Thoughtful

A little more about me

I'm not sure that I'm ready for this process. The decision to sign up was driven as much by curiousity as a means to an end. I may just pursue the Pauline approach to romance for a while.
