The one thing I am passionate about...
Constantly educating myself. I am always absorbing - books, magazines, newspapers, movies, traveling. Why? Why not - there is so much out there that is fascinating, thrilling, challenging...I want to know about it all.
I typically spend my leisure time
Books, Movies, Walking around NYC, Museums, the Park, Road Trips, Golf.
The most influential person in my life has been
I don't actively LOOK for a particular quality, but I am attracted to a woman who is "grounded" - as in, someone who has perspective, knows herself well (and is able to laugh at themself!) and has a sense of worldliness.
The first thing people notice about me
Just the other day, I was at a bar and I overheard my friend's wife saying to her friend how much fun I am to be around. I'd have to agree. :)
The last book I read and enjoyed
The Fortress of Solitude. A book about a white kid growing up in a black and hispanic neighborhood in Brooklyn in the 1970s. Great insight into race relations, culture (music, urban developement, grafitti), childhood, sexuality, parenting, and -oddly- superheroes. I loved the insight into popular music in the 70s and in particular how tough it was on this kid when the song "Play that funky music, white boy" came out.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Good health
- An ability to laugh at others and myself
- Quality friends and family
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That despite my fun and easy going disposition, I also enjoy serious discourse.
Friends Describe me as
Dependable, Funny, Generous, Intelligent
