The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about ideas, the meaning of things, and having a very close and relationship oriented partner. I am passionate about keeping my affairs in order so as to be able to have unstructured free time. I love learning and sharing thoughts and feelings with those I am close to. I love dry, unexpected, even outrageous humor. My 4 highest values have long been: great romantic relationship, physical fitness, financial fitness, and evolving myself spiritually.
I typically spend my leisure time
Walking, talking with those close to me, learning. Staying fit. Sleeping. Eating ethnic foods.
The most influential person in my life has been
I want a woman who has an inner sense of how important and wonderful a close partnership can be, who is not ambivalent about this as so many American women are. An intelligent woman, who has ALWAYS stayed fit, thinks for herself, ponders meaning, is very silly and full of spirit. Someone who is practical when necessary, who dreams the highest dreams, who never let conventional society kill her spirit. Someone who can find meaning in simple activities. I want a woman who knows that lots of quality time together is ESSENTIAL to any real relationship (it is not just a relationship "style"). I definitely want a woman who is not a Republi
The first thing people notice about me
Originality, wisdom, broad knowledge, enthusiasm, fitness, being real, energy, and iconoclastic sense of humor.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I currently read and reread books by or about individuals who seem to have found a deep and abiding sense of peace (like Eckart Tolle and Byron Katie, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta), people who seem to be "enlightened". I like reading ancient philosophers and myth, Jungian stuff, science, psychology, and investment books. I like Graham Hancock's work on ancient human civilization. Currently reading Peter Kingsley.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My intelligence and ability to see many things clearly.
- My health.
- My friends.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I think I let them see everything. What they see is what they get. Under loose clothes, they may not realize how fit my body is (same weight and muscle tone as in high school). They may not realize that I always put romantic relationship first.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Genuine, Intelligent, Physically Fit
A little more about me
I think that friendship forms the basis for love, and that when the chemistry (really alchemy) is there, the simplest activities can be meaningful and fun. I lived a mostly fantastic 26 year relationship that ended tragically, so I know experientially how much grace is possible.
