More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about pursuing a revolutinary relationship with the risen Lord and his church. I believe that for the most part, modern Christians have missed the point when it comes to spirituality, and I want to doggedly pursue the kind of life that has the mark of Jesus all over it, not just on Sunday or Wednesday.

I typically spend my leisure time

I like to listen to music (I almost always have some CD on) and I love to watch comedies both on TV and on the big screen. I'm also trying to read more because I've recently been coming across many interesting books.

The most influential person in my life has been

I believe that life is a great adventure, and I'm looking for someone to share every part of that adventure with, both the highs and the lows.

The first thing people notice about me

I guess the first thing people notice about me is my "confidence." I don't mean that in the typical sense of the word. What I mean is that when people first get to know me, it doesn't take long for them to sense that I really believe that my life has a purpose and that I'm confident that I'm heading in the right direction, albeit sometimes in a roundabout way.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Uprising" by Erwin Raphael McManus. I saw a video of one of his sermons at my parents' church back in Minnesota about a year ago, and he spoke about having a "barbarian faith" that doesn't hesitate, but acts when God calls. Since that time, I've tried to read as much of his stuff as I can. "Uprising" is about developing a truly Christ-like character.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family-they love me in spite of myself sometimes.
  2. My job-I really feel like I'm doing something positive.
  3. My relationship with the Lord.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My depth. I think because I have an easy sense of humor and use that to defuse situations, people think I'm just a clown. I feel things deeply and am very introspective, especially in times of solitude.
