The one thing I am passionate about...
Living a healthy lifestyle. For the most part this means managing my decisions, emotions, and reactions to circumstances in a way that ensures my environment stays peaceful and serene. I practice yoga, in both the physical and philosophical sense. I love long nature walks that ground and reconnect me. I meditate often, practice voluntary simplicity, and don't overschedule my life.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to dayhike. I like surf fishing, primitive camping, boating, kayaking, looking for arrowheads, visitting battlefields, beachcombing. I like theater, symphonies, museums, art shows, and festivals. I enjoy motorcycle touring. I love antique tractor shows and pulls. I read a lot, and I meditate a lot. An evening at the bookstore or library is great. I have a boat motor I intend to rebuild. I like to go out and socialize, but I usually go early in the evening on the slow nights. I enjoy shopping at antique stores, garage sales, thrift shops, consignment stores, and auctions. I spend a lot of time with my boys.
The most influential person in my life has been
DEPENDABILITY. I need a person who can be honest even when its hard, who keeps promises even when its inconvenient, who values punctuality and planning, and knows how to pull together as a team and close ranks when the going gets tough instead of running for the hills.
The first thing people notice about me
I am not sure...I guess I should ask my friends
The last book I read and enjoyed
Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and the Tao Teh Ching...the latter of which is a constant companion.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my family
- a peaceful life
- financial stability
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am not really dissatisfied with the first impression I leave...as long as people walk away with a smile, I am happy.
Friends Describe me as
Ambitious, Intelligent, Loyal, Passionate
A little more about me
I have a bald dog. It hurts her feelings if you laugh or recoil in revulsion when you meet her. If she is an alien (as my friends suggest) then such a response would be truly undiplomatic.
