More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about the children I work with, animals, people, reading, learning new things, shopping, supporting people and things I believe in, spending time with friends and family, and taking time to look around at the beauty of the world.

I typically spend my leisure time

I usually try to relax in my leisure time. I enjoy reading, listening to music , talking/spending time with my friends and family, watching tv, playing on the computer, and shopping.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone who says what they mean and means what they say. I'd like someone who can talk as well as listen. Someone who remembers to laugh and can see the humor in situations, yet knows when to be serious. The most important quality I'm looking for in another person is honesty. I'd like someone who says what they mean and means what they say. Someone who can talk as well as listen and who can see the funny things in life as well be serious.

The first thing people notice about me

Other that my appearance, the first thing people tend to notice about me is that I'm quiet and I'm a good listener. I do tend to be quiet at first , but once I'm comfortable I can be very talkative.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I love books and read anything that catches my interest. I just finished Rafe Esquith's "Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire". I found it inspiring at a time in the school year where I was feeling unmotivated. This book gave me hope for my kids, for teachers, and some new ideas to try with my students.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my family
  2. my friends
  3. my health and being able to enjoy each day

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm really not as quiet or as shy as I'm perceived to be.
