More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

To be honest - my desire is to find some focus for my passions - at least once a week 'a new thing' has me really riled and emotionally involved - something 'cries out' for my help - from the environment, the education system in the US, the women & children of Africa, the lack of funding for Job Retraining in the US...everything hits me hard - but I need to find my way to make my one small contribution to making life better or giving an opportunity to ones less fortunate - and this is where I stumble (I think MUCH TOO HUGE and ACT way too little - I am paralyzed by the enormity - and must remember that 'every little bit' does really help!)

I typically spend my leisure time

Sailing (opb), snowshoeing, walking, reading, dining out, movies, musical theater - visiting friends and planning vacations (I am a great travel planner !) I would love to learn to ballroom dance - however, I am a compulsive 'leader' so I really need a male partner to take those lessons with!

The most influential person in my life has been

kindness

The first thing people notice about me

my laugh

The last book I read and enjoyed

Notes from a Big Country, Bill Bryson - what a great observer of American life - lots of chuckles, Old School - a bit like A Separate Peace, very interesting story, War Trash, Ha Jin - so great - nothing is black and white - about the choices of Chinese Military men sent to the Korean front and the POW Camps, a novel but absolutely fascinating...just starting Barak Obama's 1st book now

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Great Friends
  2. The gifts of intelligence and creativity and the ability to see and appreciate all the wonderful beauties in this world
  3. Freedom

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Intelligent, Kind, Warm

A little more about me

I love to laugh (and can definitely laugh at myself) - I think that's a very important trait!
