The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm definitely most passionate about being happy in life. Those who know me well are probably sick of hearing me say that's all I want out of life! My experiences so far have taught me that the type of people I spend my time with have a huge impact on how happy I am, especially in a relationship. I am not concerned with what kind of house/apartment I live in, what kind of car I drive, etc. (material things) - those things mean nothing to me. I am passionate about family/friends and being there for people when they need me, as my parents and other family members as well as some of my friends have done.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to read!! I also love the outdoors, and if it's nice enough (and sometimes even if it's not), that's where I want to be. Hate to admit it, but I'm also a TV junkie, and I love movies and comedy too.
The most influential person in my life has been
I guess the most important quality to me would be the ability to be there as completely and totally for me as I will be for you. My most recent relationship left me to deal with everything in my life on my own, while expecting me to be there 150% for him at all times. I found that I could do this for a while, but eventually began to resent him for it. I feel that no one should have to face life alone, and being there for the other person is therefore very important to me in any relationship, whether it's romantic or friendship.
The first thing people notice about me
From what I've been told, it's something about what they see in my eyes. Apparently, I look much younger than my 27 years until people look at my eyes. I've been told that at times I have a look in my eyes that makes me seem older than my years. Still haven't figured out if this is a good or a bad thing!
The last book I read and enjoyed
The last book I read was Alone by Lisa Gardner. I belong to about three different mail order book clubs, and I almost always read crime/suspense fiction novels. This was a pretty good book, I had never read anything by her before and will probably check out some of her others. Right now, I'm reading 102 Minutes, which is about 9/11 from the perspective of those inside who survived. It's a compelling read but heartbreaking even from the first few chapters, b/c you already know how it ends...it got excellent reviews, so I'm sure it'll be very good.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family - without them, I would have nothing
- My friends - although not great in number, they are always there for me when I need them
- My progress in life so far - although I'm not exactly where I want to be, I definitely could have done worse!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
This is probably my fault, b/c I have a very goofy personality, but sometimes I wish people recognized right away that I would do anything for anyone. I tend not to volunteer information, which in most cases leads to others doing the same, so without really knowing me you wouldn't see that quality about me right away.
