The one thing I am passionate about...
Sports and Playing outside! I have been into rowing since 1995, and also enjoy long road biking trips. In the winter, I ski (alpine and XC), hike, and snowshoe. When I get the chance, SCUBA diving is another fun thing to do in Tropical destinations.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to travel, whether that means going someplace physically or with a book. Specifically, I enjoy spending a long weekend in a cabin in the woods, going for a long bike ride, driving around Colorado to see new places and meet new people, taking a walk in my neighborhood, reading, movies, sitting on my deck and gawking at the mountains, and watching educational programs (like Nova) on PBS. I used to be an active artist (painting, sculpting, etc.), but my life has been too busy to do that, lately.
The most influential person in my life has been
Constant pursuit of education and learning are essential! A person who has stopped learning or has quit trying out new adventures or activities is doomed. I am an active part-time graduate school student, pursuing an MBA (class of 2009, or so).
The first thing people notice about me
I have a strong, assertive, and determined personality. With friends and family, this just means that I am high-energy, engaging, on-the-go, and fun. At work, I am determined, professional, strategic, and constantly brainstorming to find solutions for a problem. I am really good at making Lemonade.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The Alchemist, by Paulo Coehlo. The main character takes a risk to try something outside of his comfort zone and trips into his destiny, through an unexpected chain of events. This kind of story gives me hope when I feel like my wheels are spinning... everything has a reason or purpose, we just don't know what it is, yet.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My Parents
- Living in Colorado
- Great Education and Smarts
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Despite being high-energy and assertive, I have a vulnerable soft-side that has taken people by surprise. My appreciation for the outdoors goes way beyond playing sports; I could sit on the edge of a lake and enjoy the peace and quiet for hours.....
Friends Describe me as
Ambitious, Creative, Intelligent, Physically Fit
A little more about me
Don't be fooled by my profession; "IT" doesn't always mean "Introverted Techno-Geek".
