The one thing I am passionate about...
A knowledge of God. Living life to the full. Being an authentic pursuer of truth. Leading others to find God and His calling for them to live a meaningful, adventurous life. Speaking, leading, writing, and teaching. My passion is to know God and enjoy Him forever with family, friends and church. I am passionate about the arts (fine, performing, musical--love jazz and the symphony, films, etc.), and love sports: I played college tennis (still play competitively), working out, swimming, running, snow skiing, and competing in just about any sport. I am also very passionate about family, and the proper pursuit of family life.
I typically spend my leisure time
With my kids, eating out, movies, jazz, walking the lake with my lab, on the tennis court, in the gym, reading, and writing. I love the creative and fine arts, museums, and sporting events.
The most influential person in my life has been
Proven stable faith, loyalty, authenticity, faithfulness, devotion to family, a "hunger" for a full life, a desire to "know" more, humor, adaptability, poise, fun. Additionally, someone who loves the arts, learning and can dialogue about various issues/interests. Someone who enjoys and pursues physical fitness.
The first thing people notice about me
I hope its the following: He's real--no pretense, wants to engage people, likes to have fun and sometimes push the envelope but not at the expense of others or truth.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I am usually reading a couple or more at a time. Most recently I have been reading Soul Storm: finding God amidst disaster *you must read this book:), some John Eldredge books "Captivating", "Wild at Heart"; Lee Strobel, Os Guiness, Ravi Zacharias, and Shakespeare. Just read Kite Runner, How People Grow, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Born on a Blue Day, and Redeeming Love
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's grace amidst some very difficult circumstances
- My three children
- Intellectual hunger, professional ability, use of my gifts in the church
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I guess that would be the same as the previous answer...that more would see I am real, genuine, no pretense, willing to engage others, and open to meet new people.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Genuine, Perceptive, Spiritual
A little more about me
I am really quite surprised I have gone online for this kind of "search". I am not perfect nor am I looking for perfection, but I am looking for and offering maturity, great fun, adventure, a life lived to the full, and deep spirituality.
