More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Living up to the ideals and beliefs that I hold, and maybe helping those I can along the way. I've spent more time than I probably should have with my nose in a book or glued to documentaries, and I've always envied the people who have been able to say that when things turned down a difficult path they were able to remain true to what they believed and gave their absolute best. I just get a so much out of my life when I feel that the people who I meet in life walk away from an encounter with me a little bit better off than when they met me. It doesn't have to be big things, just genuine concern for them and a smile is usually enough.

I typically spend my leisure time

The Lindy Hop or with my nose stuck in a book. Dancing is honestly one of the most fulfilling things in my life for the simple fact that it is one of the most intimate forms of communication. When there is nothing going on for an evening I try to find a quiet, out of the way spot to get lost in a book. I like to think I lead a simple life.

The most influential person in my life has been

The ability to be honest and self respect. I'm not much for games in a relationship.

The first thing people notice about me

I'd like to say my dashing wit, but most likely my even temper and intelligence. I'm a very laid back guy, easy to strike up a conversation with and hard to get angry.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Diamond Age / SarumSarum is a beast. Thousands of pages of pure historical fiction. It follows the history of England from prehistoria to the present day. Every new chapter brings about a new set of characters in a new world, and I end up loving or hating every one of them. For me, the things that actually go on in the world make most fiction look like child's play. The Diamond Age is different. It's what could happen in the world. It's one of those great books that centers around the question, "What if?"

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. That I got matched up by the Big Brother Little Brother program with a little brother as great as Glenn.
  2. That the argentine tango exists.
  3. That my brother Jesse is alive today.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My willingness to form the relationships that people need. Be they friendships or romantic relationships, connections with people are what make life worth living.

Friends Describe me as

Ambitious, Genuine, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

I like to explore the ideas behind what makes people tick. There has never been anything more fascinating to me than what goes on in someone else's head.
