The one thing I am passionate about...
Hmmm... I am very passionate about running, it is a lifestyle thing. I am very much into helping out friends with their problems, I take that very seriously. British comedy, maybe that isn't a passion, but I like it a lot...
I typically spend my leisure time
I like to have time to myself, so I will read or run or listen to music. I veg out on the couch like anyone else from time to time, but I like to just sit back with some music and let my mind wander, it is calming.
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who is able to be themself. I am open to most people, but what I am most bothered by is people who feel they have to someone or something for everyone but themselves. There is something lost when people get too caught up in what others think. Just my opinion.
The first thing people notice about me
I tend to be quiet and reserved before I get to know people so I would imagine they notice I am not in the center of things at first, I like to stand back and see what people are doing, how they are acting, and so on. People notice that I am paying attention.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Hmm... I just read Long Day's Journey Into Night, a play by Eugene O'Neil. I read it before in school, but I always liked it. It isn't the most uplifting play, it is about a dysfunctional family well on their way to a collapse, but it gives a good insight into the way people think and feel and interact. I like the fact that the characters in it aren't glossed over and looking at the happy sides of life, instead they focus on coping with the reality of it.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A good upbringing and a good family life
- The opportunity to get a good education and to be set up for future success
- My friends and the people that I trust the most
Friends Describe me as
Easy-Going, Good listener, Loyal, Modest
A little more about me
I like to think that I am open to a lot of things, like other people's thoughts and opinions and beliefs. Of course I have my own, but that doesn't put me into a hard set category like liberal or conservative, this or that. I like people who can talk about what they think and back it up with solid thoughts and ideas, even if I totally disagree with them. I have a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor and I love quick wit and satire. I figure you have to be able to laugh at just about anything, otherwise you are likely to go mad. I love a good conversation, a good laugh, and a hint of deviousness in life. Just a few thoughts...
