More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I have, for a long time, been interested in the problem of homelessness. I've been writing music and prose about it for a long time, and recently i've gotten involved with a group that distributes food and clothing to homeless people in New York. It is extremely rewarding to do.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to go to good theater (when I can afford it!), go to films, read, write, and--yikes I hate to admit this--but I occasionally watch too much television (mostly films) and am semi-addicted to Spider Solitaire!

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for honesty and humor, and for a person who has passion for the things that she chooses to do in her life.

The first thing people notice about me

I don't know the answer to this, but I am surprised often by the fact that people who I've met for a very short or in a seemingly insignificant way remember me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Usually, I have 3-4 books going at once. I just finished a book entitled "Blink" which is about our ability to make effective "snap" decisions that are often more effective than laboriously thinking through answers. It is about knowing when to trust our instincts and also what the pitfalls of that can be. I have been working on that for a long time because I feel my tendency has been to overthink things.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Learning to open my heart up to others, expressing my feelings honestly
  2. The friends I have that I can always depend on. There are not a lot, but I love them all.
  3. Finally finding the place where I belong in terms of work and loving what I am allowed to do here.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I love simple, quiet intimate things. I think people see me at times as more complicated than I am.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Good listener, Intelligent, Kind

A little more about me

I want to be able to share this part of my life with someone warm, honest and loving, and hope that we both are able to use everything we've learned about ourselves (good and bad) to create a kind, intimate, funny, intense, caring relationship.
