The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about opera. The beauty of expression that results from the genius of the composer with the talents of vocalists, musicians, conductor, director, set designer, and costume designer is intense. My second passion is for having new experiences. I'll try almost anything at least once!
I typically spend my leisure time
I like to go for walks to help clear my head--be it through a quaint village, a park, or along the beach. I enjoy reading--novels, magazines, research, how-to books. I delight in attending creative productions--operas, musicals, live theatre, concerts. I like to give dinner parties--interesting food, fine wine, and lots of conversation. Creating-- writing, arts and crafts, sewing. I design and make many of my own greeting cards.
The most influential person in my life has been
It is important to me that the man in my life understands and respects that I may have opinions, feelings, ideas other than his and not see it as a threat to himself or the relationship. Rather, I would like him to see it as an opportunuty to explore and, perhaps, to learn together.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"The Bluest Eye" by Tony Morrison is about the social and domestic aggression of a black girl growing up in a crippling family. Some of the experiences crossed over the racial line, while some were unique to "poor blacks."
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My loving family (which "stars" my 20-month-old grandson) brings me great joy!
- I feel fortunate to have so many quality friendships--both new and old long-term friendships
- As the saying goes, "You have everything if you have your health," and I have good health.
Friends Describe me as
Intelligent, Physically Fit, Spontaneous, Warm
A little more about me
I've parasailed in Mexico, and paragluided in Switzerland. Looking for more adventures--possibly parachuting (the thought of which both scares me and thrills me)!
