More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Physical activities, though not necessarily just one. I really enjoy playing racquetball and pistol shooting most of all.

I typically spend my leisure time

Exercise (racquetball, running, weightlifting), pistol shooting, computer games, movies

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who will accept me the way I am, faults and all. I am flexible in some ways, but am quite fixed in many more. I think that is hard for some people to tolerate, but I am who I am.

The first thing people notice about me

Quiet professionalism I think. I tend to blend with the background sometimes, but things always get done.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Regiment by John Dalmas. It is a science fiction story about a journalist who is following a confict on a remote world. His journey leads him to discover a vast conspiracy, but one which makes him a better person (in my opinion anyway). I like the philosophy expressed by the "super-soldiers" in the story. They are "playing", and not "working". They fight as a form of play, and the result of the fight is not important so long as they have an enjoyable experience. I think this can be applied to life in many ways, though preferably not fighting (which is sadly sometimes unavoidable).

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. An awesome family (mother, sister, stepfather)
  2. Opportunity to serve my country
  3. Opportunity to do things mostly my way, and have fun doing it

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Because of my reserved nature, I don't think people realize what I would do to help them. For someone who seems genuinely in need of help, I can be very loyal and dependable, even if that someone is not a close friend.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Easy-Going, Quiet, Respectful

A little more about me

Hmmm, well this is a tricky one to explain. In one of my favorite sci-fi books, the main character (a young man) is segregated from women by circumstance. When he returns to society, he goes "people watching," and mentally comments on "what simply wonderful creatures women are" (not a direct quote, but close). I couldn't agree more, and I find women to be lovely, wonderful and fascinating. However, you must understand if I am committed to you, then that is simply the way it is, and no other woman is a threat to you. I may appreciate other women, but through my committment to you I will honor and cherish you above all others; period.
