More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

faith, family, sports (college football, mostly)

I typically spend my leisure time

watching sporting events (tv/live), community/church volunteer work, working out

The most influential person in my life has been

Well, I've got a few and the first two are closely related; someone who is genuine/sincere and has a good heart (a bit tough to actually define, but as the saying goes, "I know it when I see it"). I am also a pretty orthodox, practicing Catholic, as well, and so while not absolutely essential, having that (Catholicism/Christianity) in common would obviously be advantageous. Of course, as one might imagine, given my faith orientation, my politics tend to be pretty conservative, as well.

The first thing people notice about me

Uh, no clue, but, again, if I had to guess, I suppose that I am a bit quiet(?).

The last book I read and enjoyed

As previously written in my original profile, I am notorious for starting but not finishing books (regrettably, a practice that continues through this update). That said, the book I mentioned before; "Virtuous Leadership; An Agenda for Personal Excellence" was fantastic. The aspect I enjoyed most about it was the overarching premise that true leadership is based in having good/strong character and not necessarily on one's education level or intelligence, etc. (although, of course, those things don't hurt). The idea that virtues such as charity and magnanimity are so essential to leadership really resonated with me. Good stuff...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. faith
  2. family
  3. friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Well, I'm not sure if it is something I "wished" people would notice, but guessing, I would say maybe the disarming aspect of my personality(?). As I do tend to be a bit quiet/reserved, I think it surprises some people about how easy going I am, once they get to know me (or the "ice" is broken).

Friends Describe me as

Genuine, Good listener, Respectful, Thoughtful
