The one thing I am passionate about...
Most importantly I am passionate about communication and maintaning relationships (family, friend, and romantic) which tie in closely with my profession, about which I am also passionate. I'm passionate about sports, but not the kind most people are - figure skating and rowing. Cooking, cool kitchen gadgets, entertaining, making things look nice. I'm passionate about equality for those disenfranchised and discriminated against. Travelling all over the world. My home - Chicago. Music (folk, classic rock, classical, female singer-songwriters). Then some odds and ends - fountain pens, high-count bed linens, hats, my boarding school and college.
I typically spend my leisure time
Unfortunately, when not in a relationship, I spend too much of it doing work-related supplementary stuff and may find myself vegging out in front of the TV. In better times, I love to cook and listen to music, and I spend a good amount of time keeping contact with my network of friends and family. I'm never stingy with my telephone bill.
The most influential person in my life has been
There are many qualities I am looking for in a partner - some I know, some I'm sure I've yet to find out. What I am learning more and more through my own experience, my friends', and that of people I work with is that relationships are hard! I want to be with a partner who, in addition to reveling in the good times, is committed enough to a relationship to work through the inevitable bad ones.
The first thing people notice about me
I'm genuine. I believe in that there is good in ALL people, and I try my best to find it. I think people leave interactions with me feeling like they have made a connection and feel good about themselves.
The last book I read and enjoyed
It wasn't the last, but I recently read the Harry Potter series. After many years of graduate school, I found I needed to ease myself back into leisure reading. I don't usually like fantasy, but these just allowed my imagination to soar. I can't wait for the release this summer.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- the undying support and love of my family and close friends
- the educational opportunities that were made available to me
- having grown up travelling all over the world which I think has made me a person open to new experiences
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Probably that I'm funny. Not that I could ever quit my day job, but I think I have a subtle sense of humour. I often wish it were more developed, but you can't be good at everything. At least my close friends tell me I'm funny sometimes.
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Good listener, Hard Working, Loyal
A little more about me
Sure, but on a case by case basis.
