The one thing I am passionate about...
I enjoy discussing most anything from the ridiculous to the sublime - in the news, in the paper, in the movies or, oh, no! TV... it's all part of the cultural currency. I also love observing human nature; we are fascinating bunch. So... I took up acting and improv classes a while ago. They've were a blast and very hard work yet an unbelievable, practical, creative rush. For any athlete out there, a perfect moment on stage is exactly like the perfect pass, perfect volley, perfect swing for you - it's that "sweet shot" you savor. Acting or golf - it's a rare, fleeting, amazing rush when you "connect"... Nothing else is quite like it.
I typically spend my leisure time
Listening to music (and singing wildly off-key) in my car, ambling thru Flea and Farmer's Markets of a Saturday morning, finding movies or galleries when I can, and working on my acting/classes.
The most influential person in my life has been
A Good Man is Hard to Find . Stolen, er, borrowed from Flannery O'Connor.... The person I'd like to meet would best be described as a "good" man. Not a nice guy but the old-fashioned-decent-Jimmy-Stewart-good-kind-of-man; someone who knows right from wrong and if he is unsure, frets about it until he knows the answer. This is the man who defends those who can't fend for themselves - those who are in a pinch - in a way that does not call attention to himself. To serve and protect is how he operates but is not servile or domineering. Of course he'd have a wicked sense of humor. And be attractive. Can I say that? A girl can dream, right?
The first thing people notice about me
That I try to be kind, not merely nice, to people. And that I like to laugh.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"The Namesake" - a novel about those things left unsaid between generations, the things that form each of us and that we then mold and carry as badges and shields of honor. In sum the novel asks, what is the most important unit of society - family or self?
The three things which I am most thankful for
- health - I recently broke my ankle and found it's not the greatest of ills, yet still a challenge
- faith - there is a plan for everyone; my plan is laughable but it's in place
- luxury - of expecting the good in others. thanks to my "cankle" the lovely discovery that most people are truly kind-hearted
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I enjoy being quiet, still and calm. I tend to "rev" high most of the time and so peace is what I crave...

A little more about me
