More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Learning about and experiencing new things. I'm fascinated by different cultures, religions, and other people's life experiences. I love a challenge and finding creative solutions. I'm very much looking forward to the day when I can travel more often (and have someone special with whom to share the experiences!).

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to learn, travel, read, and bike. I try to ski (downhill) a couple times a year (the operative word being "try"!). My neighbors throw great parties (even when it's just the three of us), and every once in a while you'll find me dancing at Luna or Boogie Fever. Lately I've been going to a lot of concerts (I enjoy just about anything live). My favorite thing to do with my (remarkably normal) teenage son is attend sporting events (I'm partial to basketball and football).

The most influential person in my life has been

Confidence. I have a strong personality and need someone who not only isn't intimidated by it, but revels in challenging it! But most importantly, a great sense of humor. Make me laugh and I'm yours forever.

The first thing people notice about me

Probably that aforementioned strong personality. Will you be able to listen patiently to my sometimes endless chatter, yet not be afraid to once in a while tell me to shut up and kiss you?

The last book I read and enjoyed

"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. It's about a young girl in Nazi-occupied Germany who is basically an orphan and loves to read so much she steals books. What makes the story compellingly unique is that it's narrated by "Death." Sounds morbid, I know. But he (Death) is a compassionate, darkly humorous, and surprisingly affable fellow. Despite the gravity of the primary story line (World War II and, peripherally, the Holocaust), I found myself completely charmed.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family and friends
  2. My freedom (and those who defend it)
  3. My education

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm overworked and underpaid? (Especially the underpaid part!). ;)

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Generous, Intelligent, Outgoing
