More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I was bit by the acting bug in High School and have enjoyed frequent relapses in the 20-odd years that have passed since my initial exposure. Being able to shed my own skin and take on the character of another person is fascinating and has afforded me the opportunity to try different experiences that I might not otherwise have had the nerve to try. Also, there's a powerful feeling that is almost tangible when you connect with an audience and know that you are moving them emotionally. Very addictive...

I typically spend my leisure time

Working on remodeling my house or one of a dozen other projects I usually have going at the same time.

The most influential person in my life has been

For me, it's a combination of qualities that makes the whole...I seek honesty, open and genuine communication, spontaneity, creativity, intellectual stimulation combined with sensitivity and intuitiveness. Assertiveness and self-confidence with a deep respect for others is also very attractive.

The first thing people notice about me

I think people notice that I am friendly and that I have a warm and accepting attitude.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I recently read a book on Shakespeare...it explored his life and how his surroundings and life experiences may have made their way into his plays. It was interesting to learn more about the man whose works I enjoy so much. I also picked up a few books on gardening this past weekend (another project for the warm months) and another on Renaissance verse.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Health (for which I give thanks daily),
  2. creativity (which I owe to my mother), and
  3. life in general, with all it's ups and downs.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

When I started writing this, I stated that people routinely underestimate me, but now that I think about it, it hasn't happened in a long time, so maybe I've gotten better at expressing myself. Hm.
