More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

My faith in Jesus Christ and however He's currently working in my life. For fun I like to kayak (I bought my own 14' this past Spring), getting engrossed in really good mysteries or fiction, swimming laps, traveling to Seattle to visit friends, watching suspense/action movies or PBS Masterpiece Theatre.

I typically spend my leisure time

Swimming, kayaking, watching suspense/action movies, home improvement projects, reading fiction (mysteries especially), volunteering, listening to NPR when driving.

The most influential person in my life has been

Kindness and respect for others as shown by how you describe the intrinsic qualities of the people in your life. Kindness and sincerety as demonstrated by trying to identify commonalities between you and new people you meet. Your faith would be reflected in your attitudes towards others.

The first thing people notice about me

My sense of humor and quick wit. I'm also very observant and well-informed.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Everything Changes by Jonathan Tropper -- about an ordinary guy that is engaged to one woman, but is in love with another and the shake up created by the possibility that he has cancer. I liked the glimpse into his primary relationships: what he chooses to communicate, what transpires in his mind, how he navigates reprioritizing his life. Often it's the situations that force us to choose what should come first in our hearts and minds that defines who we are as people in the non-crisis times. I thought the book was rich with defining moments.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Deep, genuine, trustworthy friendships.
  2. My home and living in a free society.
  3. A financially organized life.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm pretty sensitive to others' needs and usually try to think of things I could do to encourage or assist them in some way. Also that I know myself very well -- both my strengths and my weaknesses so there's no need for game-playing . . . what you see is what you get with me.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Genuine, Hard Working, Intelligent

A little more about me

Oftentimes the packaging is not as impressive or important as the contents. A pearl is created and grows in a nondescript oyster!
