More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love music. I love discovering sounds that move me. I love going to see performances that challenge and excite me. And I love being able to share some of that passion - when I can - with the people I care about.

I typically spend my leisure time

I watch far too much TV, but I never feel like I am all about that. I play poker (of course), I've started to read a lot more lately, I'm always listening to and searching for my next favorite band, I love hanging out with my family and I love to go out to eat with the people I care about.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'd love to meet someone who is capable of understanding that I don't always have myself running at peak efficiency. I often find myself focusing too much on one facet of my life to the detriment of another. If you can accept that I'm still learning about myself and growing, then we're already ahead of curve.

The first thing people notice about me

My quick wit is probably my most accessible trait. I can't help but slip a joke in at the earliest opportunity.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Decoding the Universe: How the New Science of Information Is Explaining Everything in the Cosmos, from Our Brains to Black Holes -- by Charles Seife. The book is a look at the emerging field of Information Theory which, as the book explains, can be used to explain and connect disparate branches of science and understanding. I've always been a science guy, and this book neatly runs through the gammut of interesting nerd-dom (thermodynamics, string theory, etc..)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My parents are great people who have given me opportunity and appreciation for many things.
  2. Working in New York City.... It's shown me that the differences are the great part.
  3. Music. Affecting and expressive, I've never lost my appetite for a great song.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

For whatever reason I have a fairly stoic demeanor, but I am far more emotional and sensitive than I usually express outwardly in public.

Friends Describe me as

Easy-Going, Funny, Good listener, Intelligent
