More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

As a Scorpio, I have been accused of being a passionate person in general. My greatest passions, however, are my spiritual practice (yoga), music (both live and listening), reading, art, and, when the situation is right, a healthy relationship.

I typically spend my leisure time

Films, reading, music (live and listening), yoga, engaging in interesting conversation with interesting people, outdoor activities (some hiking and biking), finishing the Sunday Times before the next one comes!

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who is interested and interesting. ( I believe the most important and sexiest part of anyone is their brain!) Also, it is important that a person respect and themselves physically and emotionally so that they can love themselves enough to be able to truly love another.

The first thing people notice about me

That I have a optimistic dispositionThat I am interested in a variety of cultural thingsThat I have one foot in the "astral plane and one foot in the physical plane" (a spiritual woman in an earth suit!)

The last book I read and enjoyed

Typically, I am reading two or three books at once (different genres)...The last three I finished consecutively were: "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides (about a man who is born a hermaphrodite who decides to trace back his family history to find where the gene went wrong...beautifully written, Pulizter Prize winner); "The Secret Life of Bees" ( a wonderful story about an ulikely community of women who are unexpectedly galvanized in a mutually supportive way); "The Bhagavad Gita" (a good re-read of an important spiritual tome)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my sons
  2. my spirtual practice (yoga)
  3. my continuing interest in the world around me

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That though I am not "needy", I have needs. Once, I was told that it was kind of scarey in that I was "not broken." That confused me, as I have worked hard at developing my stride as a healthy, single woman(who truly wants a healthy monogamous relationship.) Sometimes, by not being overtly "fragile", some don't recognize that I am very sensitive and have a side of me that truly enjoy some of the gender specific care-taking behaviors. (That goes both ways!)
