The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about developing a greater relationship with Jesus and with other believers. I believe that community is an extremely important element in the life of a follower of Jesus and one that is terribly neglected. I am passionate about learning all I can about the gifts that I have been given and learning on the use them. I am passionate about learning, I plan on being a student all my life. I love good conversations about anything, from art to literature, to pop culture. I think that it is all important and important to discuss. I don't believe in sweeping anything under the rug.
I typically spend my leisure time
I read a lot, fiction and non-fiction. Some science-fiction/fantasy ( i love fairy tales), some mystery, literary fiction, poetry. I love history, so I read lots and watch historical things. I got to museums. I cook. I enjoy hanging out at coffee shops drinking way too much caffiene. Great converstation late at night. Staying up entirely too late. I like to attend theatre. I like music theatre. I like antiquing. I love to travel, haven't done nearly enough of it.
The most influential person in my life has been
This person...must be passionate about growing constantly in both his knowledge of the the world around him, and in his relationship with Jesus and others.
The first thing people notice about me
I am very kind. I listen really well. I try to understand bothsides of an arguement or issue so that I can better approach with compassion and knowledge.
The last book I read and enjoyed
i just finished the second in Ellen Peters' Brother Cadfael mystery series, "Once Corpse Too Many". I really enjoyed it. Cadfael is monk who was formerly a crusader, and he now works in the herbarium at the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, and solves various odd mysteries with the help of his good friend the under sheriff Hugh Beringer. This book deal with the execution of defenders of Shrewbury Castle during the war between King Stephen and Empress Maud in 1138, in this story only 94 were supposed to be killed, but a 95th victim was discovered. Great stuff, and all sorts of historical bits are tucked in.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's grace and love
- great friendships
- books, coffee, and good converstation
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
