The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about honing that perfect balance where I give an equal amount of love and attention to myself as I do to others. I desire to become more comfortable being rather than doing. I am continually open to discovering more about human behavior. I find it just fascinating to learn about the myriad ways people interact, behave, believe, react, and accept the world around them. On a secular level I love creating new ideas in the garden area of my home, as well as in my home. I give much attention to health and well-being of my body
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy reading, writing, watching movies, cooking, meditating, drumming, exercising, gardening, traveling and being with friends. I enjoy searching the Internet for information about the area of life that happens to interest me in the current moment; i.e. faux painting, visiting a new restaurant, or learning a new skill. I love the computer and am naturally curious about all things in life and beyond.
The most influential person in my life has been
To be respectful of all people, (all life), and individual values and opinions. That would translate into someone who would be genuinely interested in knowing me; a good listener who recalls our conversations and gives feedback and commentary. Respect, interest and kindness.
The first thing people notice about me
I am real - authentic. I am not the most glamorous woman out there, but I do carry myself with flair. It comes naturally, because I don't try to be anything other than who I am.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I just finished reading, The Trance of Scarcity, by Victoria Castle. It is about the illusion we humans buy into; like, there isn't enough to go around, I am not good enough, there will always be war, etc...I loved "The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle He continues to inspire me to become comfortable in the Now moment, not the past or future. I just reread one of my favorites, "Mingling Minds" by Ervin Seale. It is about the life works and philosophy of Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, the originator of "New Thought" in America.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My Children and my friends
- Having a sense of humor
- My curiousity
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I walk with a limp and often use a cane. People will say, "I didn't notice." I guess it is a compliment, but I wonder if they are just being polite. I have total hip replacements resulting from a birth "defect", I prefer to call it a gift. As there is nothing whatsoever "wrong" with me. And this opportuntity has been the motivator for me to develop a strong spiritual practice and belief.
Friends Describe me as
Funny, Genuine, Intelligent, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I am curious about what is around the corner because I consider life to be a continuous adventure.
