The one thing I am passionate about...
Time outdoors, especially paddling rivers with one or two friends. Paddling includes running whitewater, fishing, photography, wildlife watching, unhurried conversation, some hard exercise, and the beautiful places. Refreshing and invigorating
I typically spend my leisure time
Following my nose instead of following the herd
The most influential person in my life has been
aware, imaginative, resourceful, thinking on one's feet, a sense of wonder, an appreciation of uniqueness, control on one's tongue when one has nothing to say
The first thing people notice about me
In the beginning, quiet reserve. On first meeting people I tend to watch and listen a while before joining in.
The last book I read and enjoyed
TO THE LAST MAN: A NOVEL OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR by Jeff Shaara. Novelized history. A very human look at four men and WWI through their eyes.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- health, in spite of lazy habits lately
- abilities and resources
- people who challenge and motivate me
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I don't wear ANYTHING on my sleeve. No tattoos, no brand-name t-shirts, no bumper stickers. If you want to know what I'm about you'll have to bother to strike up a conversation, or be receptive to one.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Easy-Going, Good listener, Intelligent
A little more about me
Be patient. Be polite. Be inquisitive. Be aware. Care. Look and think again, and again. If you must always win, drive on. If you have can't control yourself don't expect me to. I don't like weakness without good cause and I don't like chronic whiners. Problems are solved by intellegent action and intent.
