More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Bedides my family, I am passionate about playing and listening to music. I enjoy almost any type music. Also, I can't imagine not being able to read daily. I always have books in my home waiting to be read.If I have my music, books, camping (trailer style) my family, church, friends, and God, I am one happy person.

I typically spend my leisure time

What leisure time? When the opportunity arises, I play the the organ and piano. I read a lot. I love to camp (with all the modern conveniences.} I do a lot of crafts, especially with my embroidery machine. I usually have the stereo on rather than the tv. I spend time with my daughters and their families. I also like to ride on the back of a Honda Gold Wing.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty is an absolute "must have" ,for any relationship, even friendship, to sustain. The ability to discuss issues, personal as well as events of the day would be attractive, also.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile. I always meet people with a smile. Along with a smile is friendliness. Having always worked with the public, especially when nursing, a smile and a friendly manner can help people at very difficult times, even when recieving that smile from a stranger.

The last book I read and enjoyed

It so happens today, I read a book regarding the Prayer of Jabez. My daughter is getting ready to teach a study on this prayer and asked me to read it. I gathered more insight into this prayer, its history and significance. It makes one think as well as understnad the use of this prayer. I am in the proces of reading 3 other books and I am in various stages of each book. At least one book is always open in my home waiting for me to pick it up and readl

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. God who is always there..
  2. My family who have helped me through the worst experience of my life.
  3. My employees who have picked up the slack of my business and made it more sccuessful than ever.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Probably my dry sense of humor.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Caring, Genuine, Intelligent

A little more about me

Throughout my nursing career, I worked as amental health nurse/counselor, a Dir of Nursing, and a Program Coordinator for the Il Dept of Public Health. I enjoyed my nursing career and what I could give to people. Even though I no longer work as a nurse, I presently serve on a state guardianship and advocacy commission board where I use my nursing knowlege to investigate complaints of abuse against the disabled, both mentally and physically disabled and senior citizens.
