The one thing I am passionate about...
Just living for the Lord. Knowing Him and loving Him and loving others. This I'm passionate about because of what Christ has done for me, taking my guilt and shame on the cross and setting me free to follow Him. Every day is a new adventure. Right now I have the privilege of discipling three young men from Rwanda who are students at the University of Nebraska here in Lincoln. I really pray to God that I am a blessing to them. They sure are to me.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy outdoor activities when the weather is good, 3 mile exercise walks, golfing, fishing, yard work, picnics at the park. I also enjoy movies and activities like seeing the Blue Angels perform, the Americruse, the Henry Dorley Zoo, and going out to eat with friends. I also enjoy reading and a little TV.
The most influential person in my life has been
God's love. Agape love. The kind of love that 1 Cor. 13 talks about which we are all imperfect in, but to which we aspire. If someone truely loves another with mature agape love, he or she is a giver and not a taker in a relationship.
The first thing people notice about me
That I'm friendly and that I care about people.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"Through Gates of Splendor", by Elizebeth Elliott. The story of her first husban Jim Elliott, who was one of the five missionaries speared by the Aaca Indians, is a story I will never forget. Jim Elliott's love for Christ, his total abandonment to Christ, his zeal to do God's will as he knew it, his willingness to suffer and even die for his faith.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's love and grace
- God's word
- Good health, physical and financial
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That Christ lives in me. I want my life in every way to be a powerful witness to others how He can change a man and give Him peace and joy and love.
Friends Describe me as
Generous, Kind, Physically Fit, Spiritual
A little more about me
I'll be forever growing and learning. Integrity, kindness, generosity, and humility mean tons to me. I want to always remain relational, act my identity in Christ, return to joy quickly when having upset emotions, and endure hardship well. (I read that in a book about leadership and thought it was so good.)
