More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Spending time with my family is my greatest interest in life. I love going places, doing things with them. Road trips with my sisters, picnics with the whole family, visiting my children and grandchildren. Staying in line with God's will for my life is also very important to me. I love my yard, growing plants like roses. Creating a pleasant and peaceful home of my own is a favorite pasttime. Seeing the country is fun. I'm not very interested in cities though some might be interesting to see; briefly. I am a Christian and a proud American. These are the things I love.

I typically spend my leisure time

After work or on weekends I spend time watching my favorite tv shows, or a movie, doing the laundry, cleaning the house. But..I like to plan time to get away, or take a break from my regular routine whenever I can. I like going on road trips with my sisters and have been to Mt. Rushmore and a lot of places along the way. I am going to Oklahoma with them this summer, with side trips in Arizona, New Mexico and other places. We are planning a camping trip to the mountains this summer as well. I like to visit family and sightsee here and there; the beach, SF, Sacramento, antique stores, flea markets, shopping, movies, dinner out; or take a drive

The most influential person in my life has been

Dependability: to know whatever the need that the someone special in my life will be there for me; to comfort in times of sorrow, to converse in the together times, to support in the hard or stressful moments, to walk side by side in the daily grind of life in general, to know that even when we are apart I am not alone in facing whatever comes along, that he will face them with me and we will handle that 'whatever' together. Loneliness when there should be togetherness is one of the saddest places on earth. If I am to be lonely, then I would rather do it alone.

The first thing people notice about me

I am quiet and shy.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. The courage and strength showed by each character, each in their own way. That nobility, honor, stedfastness, loyalty are important characteristics. No man or woman can truly be called great without them. And most important of all, no matter how small you think you are, the little that you think you do can change the course of history.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My relationship with Christ
  2. My family
  3. My country

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

This is one of those questions that are hard to answer. I could file through my list of things about myself and pick something out, but nothing feels right. I'm not sure that there is anything I want people to notice about me right away. Or later on. I would rather just be accepted as I am without worrying about whether they have seen some special 'essence'. And taking one thing that might truly be special and putting it out there for others to pick up on right away takes away from whatever it is. It becomes phony. If you want to know me better, then take the time required. It's more fun that way.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Hard Working, Modest, Quiet

A little more about me

I know me from the inside out. You can only know me from the outside in. It takes time and effort to get to know someone on a deeper, more intimate level. Part of the joy of being a couple is that process of getting to know one another. It doesn't begin and end at the first hello, or at the final 'I do' at the altar. It is a lifelong process and doesn't end until the final goodbye. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have someone to grow together with, become a part of, live intimately with. That's what I want in a relationship and I want a man who is capable of that kind of love and commitment.
