The one thing I am passionate about...
online questionnaires.. ?(not!)chamber music, Eugene Atget, Beethoven (and Schubert, Brahms, Bach, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Jacques Brel, Louis Armstrong..) the smell of lavender- and lilac, the sound of thunder, giant trees, New York City, Venice, philosophy, poetry, astronomy, awe- the concept of infinity- silence..
I typically spend my leisure time
I actually try to spend it untypically.. but long walks, short trips, foreign films, reading, museum-going, yoga-ing, trying new restaurants, long, lingering conversations with friends.. are almost-habits.. I'm a bit more urban than I dream of being-
The most influential person in my life has been
just one ? the capacity for tenderness ? integrity ? a deep thinker who loves to laugh-- warmth.. hmmm.. which of these is most important seems to depend on my mood. A man who truly wants to build a life with a woman would be a great start.
The first thing people notice about me
The last book I read and enjoyed
a few light books.. including "Master and Commander"- first time I've ever been inspired to read a book after seeing the movie ! and "A Meal Observed" about a long, yummy meal at Taillevent. tried to read Seamus Heaney's translation of "Beowolf" but didn't stick with it. I'm starting the new Susannah Clarke novel that's for adults, but supposed to give Harry Potter a run for his money.. a magician tome.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my family/friends
- my work- my music
- my imagination/mind
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm not sure
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Intelligent, Loyal, Warm
A little more about me
I have a bit of a Schroeder complex.. (I adore Beethoven-) and I wear real stockings.
