More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

History, literature, religious faith, higher education, movies (everything by Scorsese and Kubrick, and definitely NOT "commercial" films--mulch for the masses, in other words).

I typically spend my leisure time

Movies/TV, bookstores, eating out, Internet surfing.

The most influential person in my life has been

Independence and a sense of being comfortable in their own skin.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm quiet.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal" by Eric Schlosser. He details how the fast food industry manipulates and exploits teenage employees, the nation's poor, naive children, and the public in general.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My salary and my vehicle.
  2. My parents.
  3. I will start work on a Master's degree in library science next month.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I have a lot on my mind and a lot I would like to contribute to a conversation. I hate making smalltalk, however.

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Intelligent, Quiet, Thoughtful

A little more about me

I remind myself of a Gary Larson "Far Side" cartoon I once saw. Two big polar bears are sitting around an igloo. One polar bear has bitten a chunk out of the top of the igloo, and he looks at the other bear and says, "Man, I love these things--crunchy on the outside and a chewy center!"I think I have a tough exterior (or at least I come across that way), and most people don't make an effort to find out that I am, in fact, a puppy dog on the inside.
