More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Teaching my children by example, personal embarrassments or childhood memories the skills that could help them become secure and contributing members of society when they grow up. Okay, maybe they'll be like me and never grow up, so how about once they mature.

I typically spend my leisure time

Renovating my 14 year old home, reading, working out and learning foreign languages. Occasionally brain dead.

The most influential person in my life has been

Compatibility with the ability to actually compromise, not just provide lip service. While I am extremely open minded I find those who predicate relationships on religious (have to date/associate with Athiests, Christians or Jews, ....) or political (have to date/associate with conservatives, liberals or moderates....) values are improperly paired with me due to their didactic inability to care about any other point of view and, mais, bien sr, their perceived intellectual superiority while simultaneously giving only verbal support to "Can't we all just get along?" instead of living it. However, I wish you well in your search.

The first thing people notice about me

What if....other than....how about.......if only.......Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was Ford's Theater last evening? Nope, nothing here.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Skeptical Environmentalist. Bjorn Lomborg. As a member of Greenpeace and a Danish statistics professor, Lomborg set out to discredit an American economist's assesment of our environmental future and in the process, contrary to the author's expectations, eventually agreed with "a surprisingly large amount of his (the economist's) points." Plenty of charts, graphs and more than 2900 footnotes.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My son.
  2. My daughter.
  3. Our life together.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Nothing here either. Okay, maybe dog hairs from the 2 black labs, Spike (8) and Chip (3).

Friends Describe me as

Easy-Going, Good listener, Loyal, Perceptive
