More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I've been shying away from it, but the idea of playing music still gets caught in my head from time to time. Been talking to the old band mates lately and playing a little bit.Aside from that, this sounds silly, but passion tends to be my passion. I'm far too in love with being in love. Don't get me wrong, I can go years away from it with no problem. Definitely not the "I don't know how to be alone" type. (I hate that btw) But I have my hopeless romantic moments too.

I typically spend my leisure time

Playing guitar/singingPlaying pc gamesWatching moviesTaking my guitar to the park/lake.Going to the gym.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty is by far the most important thing to me, even if it seems cruel or cold. The truth of things is manageable, even if it may not be what you would prefer to hear.

The first thing people notice about me

I can think of a handful of people who met me in the last 5 or 6 months who all commented on how calm and laid back I am. Though I also think people probably notice pretty quickly that I tend to be the quiet observer.

The last book I read and enjoyed

On The Origin of Species. I actually haven't finished it yet. It's the 100th anniversary edition, which is a reprint of the first edition. It feels like reading a text book written in Old English sometimes. Think I've actually had to look a few words up because they are no longer in common use and I'd never heard them before. I suppose spending years to release a book gives you time to be thorough, but the order in which Darwin gave information was genius. Designed to take someone who completely disagrees and slowly present them with a position they have agreed to and would be quite difficult to argue against.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My grandfathers example
  2. My thirst for knowledge
  3. A job I enjoy

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I really don't know how to answer that. I'm pretty blatantly open with most anyone once I'm talking, and generally don't concern myself to much with how people perceive me. So I'm not sure that I've ever really thought about that.I suppose it's not that uncommon for people who don't know me that well to think I'm unhappy when I'm in a great mood. Maybe that? Noticing that I don't necessarily always display my mood outwardly.Makes me a little wary of people who believe they are really good at reading others. In past experience I seem to have far more misunderstandings with people who are convinced of that.
