More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

An empty palette-such as a white room inside a house or a level grassy backyard and transforming it into something extraordinary-unique, private & relaxing.

I typically spend my leisure time

Much of my weekday "free" time is spent working on my own & friends homes & yards. I boat on the New River, fish on Bogue Pier, & beach at Emerald Isle. Some is spent on excursions to art & statuary shops & browsing through Lowe's. Weekends are a mix of occasionally getting away to the Outer Banks, Historic Charleston, or camping at Jordan Lake; more simple weekends may include a day trip to points within a 50 mile radius to visit museums, zoos, aquariums, etc. Even more simply, rollerblading with my son, pitching a tent in the yard or having a fire in the backyard pit. I design & make stained glass windows, & I'm learning to play piano.

The most influential person in my life has been

Humor-he needs to have the ability to laugh at his own mistakes, and capable of bantering goodnaturedly without taking offense.

The first thing people notice about me

I'd have to say that people would notice that I'm at ease & friendly when meeting them for the first time, as well as maintaining good eye contact.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I wish I could say it was one of my more intellectual books on Antietam or Scot's history, but it was Patricia Cornwell's newest novel, "Blow Fly". I could not attempt to sum up her book in a couple sentences. The characters are recurrent and the storyline goes back several books. I will say she is one of four authors whose books I buy without reading the cover jacket.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Good health of myself & family.
  2. Having common sense (despite all the blond jokes)
  3. Ability to be self-supporting.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

If they are paying attention, then they shouldn't miss anything.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Creative, Easy-Going, Energetic

A little more about me

I live my life to the fullest every day...and at the end of my life, I want standing room only at the wake, and for everyone to agree that I led an immensely useful and happy one!
