More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Traveling, good food and drink, reading, learning/education, arts and culture, design and architecture, spending time with friends and family, Portland and the Pacific Northwest.

I typically spend my leisure time

I recently bought a 1920s bungalow, so I've been spending a fair amount of time doing house projects and hanging out at Lowe's. As far as favorite activities, I love eating out and trying new restaurants, going to the farmers market, reading/book club, movies, traveling, baking, playing Scrabble, crossword puzzles, photography, Pilates and yoga. Less frequent but also favorite activities...hiking, snowshoeing, and camping (especially with a good dose of sleeping bag snuggling).

The most influential person in my life has been

Wow, MOST important quality? I'm definitely drawn to people who are witty, clever, or at least can find the humor in many situations and are quick to laugh. That being said, who would want to date a funny jerk? So if you'd allow me a few others, I'd probably go with compassion, open-mindedness/progressive views, intelligence, and loyalty.

The first thing people notice about me

Hopefully my kindness and sense of humor (which I should warn you is a little on the sarcastic side).

The last book I read and enjoyed

I LOVE to read and always have a stack of books on my nightstand. I mostly read contemporary fiction but also like some non-fiction here and there. Recent ones I've enjoyed..."What is the What" Dave Eggers (for the story of human resiliency)"Water for Elephants" Sara Gruen (for the interesting characters)"Into the Wild" Jon Krakauer (for the thoughts and emotions provoked)"The Namesake" Jhumpa Lahiri (for the beautiful writing)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my family and friends
  2. living in a great city with beaches and mountains only a short drive away
  3. good health

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't know? That I'm a catch? ;)

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Funny, Intelligent, Perceptive
