More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Movies, kindness, common decency, respect for elders. I love being creative... and celebrating the work of other creative people, mainly filmmakers. But I also really get passionate when I see people being unkind or discourteous to others. It shakes me to my core. Common decency and respect for elders falls into that category -- I just want people to treat each other as they should.

I typically spend my leisure time

I haven't had true leisure time in years... but I make time for going to Disneyland. I love traveling and feeling like I am stepping outside of my every day life. On a more regular basis, I spend my leisure time going to movies... writing cards to friends. I like old-fashioned correspondence more than e-mail.

The most influential person in my life has been

Empathy/ keen sense of observation. When I have drama in my own life, I want someone who knows how to keep me calm... who understands that my intensity is easy to diffuse with the right words/ actions.

The first thing people notice about me

How friendly I am. Being a Southerner, I tend to feel close to people very quickly. I am very tactile - I like hugging and touching people... when it's appropriate, of course. I like making people feel loved, accepted, or cared for.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read screenplays for a living so I never, ever get to read books unless they've been adapted into screenplays. The last book I started was the 9/11 commission report. Politics and fact-based books are more interesting to me than fiction, in general. It all comes down to my desire to further my knowledge in the limited free time I have.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My longtime friends - they are the best you could ask for.
  2. Having a passion/ creativity - it keeps me feeling alive.
  3. Having people who believe in me.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I am talented and educated beyond my current position in life. I may not have a job that represents my skill level but I want people to see me as intelligent, as someone who has something to contribute to a conversation.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Funny, Passionate, Perceptive

A little more about me

I am socially liberal/ progressive but have some conservative views - not militantly so - but I am a huge supporter of our men and women in uniform. I think they're the ones who make the sacrifices so that the rest of us don't have to... and that deserves our respect and admiration.
