The one thing I am passionate about...
Communing with God and people through art and sports. Whether I'm running on a trail, skiing, sharing part of my life with someone, enjoying great music, or floating down a river, life is a constant dance where we are always moving and being moved by the affections of God and of those around us. I strive to make every interaction a moment of authenticity and kindness(not that I always succeed!), to genuinely relate to God & others & enjoy everyone around me, whether I'm feeling sad, or happy, or loved, or hopeful, or excited.
I typically spend my leisure time
Working out, outdoor activities, talking to friends, enjoying music & the arts, reading. And now the random answer: Pondering off-the-wall questions, like "How would we sleep if there were two suns in our solar system?" Also it depends on the season. Right now the blackberries are getting ripe, so in a week or so I'll spend a few hours a day making juice, making chocolate covered blackberries, smoothies, etc. I love to study people - why they live the way they do, how my interactions with them can be richer & more meaningful, & how we as humans are designed to live.
The most influential person in my life has been
An undying zest for life that shows me another side of God's face. Part of that means someone who makes physical and spiritual fitness a priority in their lives.
The first thing people notice about me
I'm genuinely interested in people. I'm over-priveliged everytime I interact with someone. No matter what their place in life, they always show me another piece of God's image.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"Haroun and the Sea of Stories" by Salman Rushdie. I saw a vivid expression of how God made us to live in His story.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Great friends
- The ongoing opportunity to make a lifestyle of worshipping God
- My health
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Sometimes it seems like my head is off in the clouds, but I'm always searching for a way to make life richer and more connected with the God Who Is, both for me and those around me.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Passionate, Physically Fit, Sweet
A little more about me
I spent six years in the Air Force, then got out & started college. I have one year left now, and I'm really looking forward to the job & travel opportunities that will come after I graduate. I would like to get my master's degree in sociology/anthropology someday. I would also like to be involved in humanitarian/business work in Russia, too.
