The one thing I am passionate about...
Helping others to know happiness. Whether it's by encouraging them in what they do, giving advice or guidance, lending a helping hand, or simply with a smile & a kind word, it makes my day to think that I may have played a part in brightening someones life. :-]
I typically spend my leisure time
I play volleyball twice a week. I really like to shoot pool, but don't usually have anyone to shoot with. I love to read ... novels, periodicals, text books, etc. And I really really enjoy watching movies ... either at the theatre, or at home. (Movies are mucho betterer when shared with someone ;-] )
The most influential person in my life has been
There are many qualities that I hope to find all in the same beautiful person ... but since I must choose THE most important one, I will say that she must have a very loving spirit. She certainly does take care of herself, but her focus is mostly on others. She is kind, thoughtful, empathetic, truly caring, generous, & above all, honest. (By the way, all of those things are included in real, bonifide LOVE. And love is not just a romantic thing ... it's way bigger than that.)
The first thing people notice about me
I asked my friend to answer this one about me. She said, "hmmmm, well my first inclination would be to mention the way you focus all of your attention on someone when they are speaking to you...you have a way of making people feel like the most important thing in the world" (She is a pretty cool friend.)
The last book I read and enjoyed
"How to talk so kids will listen, and listen so kids will talk." - Awsome book. I highly recommend it to anyone, with or without kids, as the principles discussed can be applied with adults as well.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My children.
- My friends
- My family
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am trustworthy. I certainly advocate being very safety conscious when meeting someone for the first time from the internet, but it still feels odd when *I* am the one that someone is being cautious about. I know that trust will be earned in time, but wouldn't it be nice if we all had this sixth sense which would allow us to detect sooner if someone is "worthy" of our trust?
Friends Describe me as
Generous, Good listener, Happy, Intelligent
A little more about me
I am an open book. Ask me anything. I just MIGHT delay answering some questions until a more appropriate time, but I will tell you no lies, and I have nothing to hide.
