More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about discovering the best methods for educating various groups of people in a variety of subjects (from grade school language arts to adult-level christian education). I am fascinated by learning theory and how it can be used to make educational training more successful and efficient.

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading, spending time with friends, journaling, shopping

The most influential person in my life has been

There are two qualities that answer this question. The first is honesty. I truly value people who are not afraid to share their thoughts and opinions. In conjunction with this, however, I think it is equally important for a person to be able to share their honest thoughts and feelings with some semblance of tact and consideration for the other's feelings. The second quality is difficult to put into one word, but I'm looking for someone who can allow for faults. No one is perfect; therefore, I think it is important to give people opportunities to work on their faults without judging them in the process.

The first thing people notice about me

My ability to listen and my sense of humor.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The latest Harry Potter book--can you tell I'm a middle school teacher? It was an easy read and a welcome escape. Since I tend to read books like this with a mind focused on my students, the thing I liked most about it is Rowling's insight into the perceptions of teenagers and the way she uses her fiction to teach them about relating to others and accepting difficult situations.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends
  2. My relationship with the Lord and the hope that that gives
  3. My part-time job because it provides a sense of challenge and fulfillment that I don't find in my regular one.

Friends Describe me as
