More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Taking the things I do to the level of art. Mainly I do that in the world of audio engineering and record production. The idea of art was first introduced to me during a guitar lesson when I was 17. I was asked if I wanted to learn the art or the craft of jazz guitar. It took me six years to understand the question.

I typically spend my leisure time

It's pretty varied. If I've had a busy week with long hours I really prefer something low key - movie, nice dinner, relaxing at home. Sometimes I take a day off and go 4-wheeling at the farm. Other times I'll work on reorganizing to try to keep day to day life as easy as possible. I do all the usual things people do. Nothing really jumps out at me as my special leisure activity, I think partly becuase what I most enjoy doing, I do for a living.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone who is stimulating through both their imagination and their intelligence. Dependability and communication skills are important too.

The first thing people notice about me

I have no idea how to know that. I have heard people say I come across as very "alive".

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book I read was called Blinded By the Sunlight, written by an old friend of mine who was thrown in Iraq's Abu Gharib prison for eight days while covering the American invasion. It wasn't the most briliantly written book, but it was fascinating to hear his story. Before that was the Tipping Point. It was very well written and researched and provided some fascinating insights on human behaviour and how trends spread throughout society.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm not a Quaker, but my K-12 Quaker education. Their motto "Behold I've set before thee and open door"
  2. My expereince as an EMT in both Boston and NYC's 911 system. Quite a few adventures, but on the whole a massive lesson in lifs' priorities.
  3. Life long, great support from my family. They're not perfect, but if I have any advantage in life, it's from them. I also have a very special cat who's my immediate family.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm shy at heart. No one beleives me, but it's true.
