The one thing I am passionate about...
My passion is education. I have never "fit" in the education system growing up, so figuring out why that is, as well as how the system can be improved, would be my passion. There has to be a better way, even though I can't articulate what that way is right now.
I typically spend my leisure time
I very much enjoy photography, and really should do it more often. Other than that, I am typically reading, having multiple magazines and books going at any one time.
The most influential person in my life has been
Intelligence, caringness, passion, presence, and some "cinnamon" as well. A girl (and yes, she will always be my "girl," no matter how old we get together) that I can smile thinking about and proudly say that we are one.
The first thing people notice about me
An overall presence. I'm told that I can inspire confidence in others, and my speaking voice tends to get noticed. Also, people think that I'm a police officer for some reason. Not quite sure why that is, since my brother-in-law is, and I'm nothing like him.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Most recently, I finished "FDR's Folly," about causes of the Great Depression. I don't typically care for scholarly books, but this was well researched and argued.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- The innate mental and physical gifts which I have been given.
- The beauty of the world, how everything fits in and has a plan.
- Being born in the United States.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My eyes. I intimidate some people right off, and I don't tend to show much emotion with my face itself. However, I've been told that my eyes are very expressive. Plus, it's a great way to tell when I'm joking, since my delivery and tone can be quite dry.
Friends Describe me as
Good listener, Intelligent, Quiet, Rational
A little more about me
I moved from Florida to Alaska because I didn't want to sweat while standing still anymore ... but now, I'm in Pittsburgh.
