The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about growing in my walk with Christ. I have also been very involved in teaching in one form or another (college professor, teaching kids at church, tutoring, etc) and love to learn and share what I've learned (I have a degree in creative writing and an advanced degree in film). I also absolutely love roller coasters, watching football, playing golf or being outdoors. My interests are pretty eclectic; from Beethoven to Billy Joel, classic cartoons to the Food Network.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy working out (I have a goal of riding in a two-day bike ride next year that raises awareness and funds for juvenile diabetes,) and playing with my American Eskimo dog (his name is Toby). I love movies- comedy, drama, sci-fi, classics and foreign film. Some of my favorite films include Pan's Labyrinth, Spiderman, LOTR and The Philadelphia Story. I also like catching a good baseball, hockey or football game (Go Pittsburgh and the Falcons). I love to travel and have seen some of Europe and many cities in the US. The road less traveled is the road I'll chose 95% of the time.
The most influential person in my life has been
The most important quality I look for in a person is genuineness. If a person is honest with and knows himself/herself, then he/she is more likely to be honest with others. There a second one that really is a tie with the first- being able to laugh, which includes laughing at yourself.
The first thing people notice about me
Probably that I can strike up a conversation with total strangers. I am definitely a people person.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I am the kind of person that has three books by her bedside, all in some state of being read. I recently re-read the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis because even though they are considered young adult books, they have some great spiritual themes in them. I am also reading Captivating and Wild at Heart by John Eldridge. The books talk about reclaiming our hearts (and passion) by growing closer to Christ- powerful books.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- The depth of Christ's love and grace
- My church family, and my family & friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Well, since this was such a tough question for me, I asked a close friend. She informs me that "my intellectual facade only vaguely masks my underlying goofball-ness." Crossed another one off the Christmas list:-D
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Generous, Optimistic, Outgoing
A little more about me
Now if I told you everything, where would the fun be in learning about each other;-D
