More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about learning. I like to figure out how and why people think the way they do. I love to analyze things; concepts, ideas, structures, even feelings. I can't believe there are people who go through life without ever being curious about it.

I typically spend my leisure time

I think that variety is the spice of life. In my leisure time I like to do lots of different things. I love the theater, live music, arts and crafts, listening to recorded music, games, trivia, and hiking to mention a few. I am definitely not a one-hobby girl. The drawback is that I don't have anything I can say that I am an expert at, which I sometimes regret.

The most influential person in my life has been

To me, the most important quality in another person is that they do not take themselves too seriously. People who cannot laugh at themselves or admit their mistakes, cannot possibly have an open and honest relationship with another person, and besides that they are no fun.

The first thing people notice about me

The first thing that people notice about me is that I am easy to talk to. This does not mean that I am good at small talk, because I am not. For some reason people are always telling me things that they wouldn't tell to most people. I guess I look appraochable.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book I read was "the five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom. Rather than being about death, the book was about how the events of our life are intertwined with the lives of others. It really made me think introspectively about my own life. The idea that decisions you make (even small ones) can have such a profound effect on somebody else's life without you even knowing it is intriguing to me. It is something we don't think about often enough.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful for two great kids who keep me grounded..
  2. I am thankful that I am able to take care of myself.
  3. I am thankful for my friends who are always there for me.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

The thing that people don't notice about me right away is that I am actually pretty funny. My humor tends toward the sarcastic, so I dial it way down at first. Lots of people (especially serious or sensitive people) don't find my style of humor that amusing until they get to know me.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Hard Working, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

I think that two people have to be friends first before they can move on to an intimate relationship. This seems obvious to me, but my experience has shown me that there are a lot of people who think that there is no connection between the two, or that the order in which they occur is arbitrary. This is very important to me and I have formulated this axiom based on my experience.
