More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Connections of things, feelings, and people to their counterparts and each other. I am always asking "Why?" I enjoy the Socratic Method for discovery. What *is* making that clock tick?

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading, movies, exploring the areas where I'm at. I love the epics, both in written and in movie form, for the escapism, and the opportunity to imagine totally different lives and times. That's my same approach to discovering new places. I always imagine myself in the homes of the inhabitants, through the ages, and wonder what they saw through their eyes.

The most influential person in my life has been

The connection as a soul-mate.

The first thing people notice about me

Serenity and calm.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I lately enjoyed "Return to the Whorl," by Gene Wolfe, and all the previous 8 books in the "Sun" series. He's a fascinating story teller, and the imagery is incredible, the drama of the characters, and even the story telling styles he undertakes fascinate. SF, but fine literature nonetheless. I've just finished "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Kind of a fantasy history about a family somewhere in Latin America. And I am now in the middle of "My Name Is Red" by Orhan Pamuk, topical in my last days of living here in Turkey. (And I have two small drawings from the book bazaar in Istanbul in the miniature style.)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I've managed to apply myself and be successful.
  2. I've developed good relations with people that I work with.
  3. My friends will be my friends for life.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

"I want to talk, honest! Approach me and engage me. I'm not being aloof!"

Friends Describe me as

Hard Working, Intelligent, Modest, Perceptive

A little more about me

I'm not arrogant, I'm just a man of few words, and like those to be relevant and humorous, and I enjoy the play of intellect. It amuses me. I hope it does you.
